Creating Ripples
@TheFrontier

“A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination”
– Nelson Mandela
An idea begins with one simple thought, one seemingly insignificant pebble tossed into a motionless body of water. Seconds later, a ripple emerges and carries itself further than anyone could ever imagine. This is where my friend, mentor, sister, and co-founder Susan Fonseca Lanham stood with her jeans rolled up and feet immersed in still waters.
Somewhere between head and heart, she questioned why women represent 50% of our global population but only a small percentage of our world-changing global conversations. She wondered why more women aren’t involved in strategic decisions on poverty, economic development, and the environment. Most of all, Susan understood that women are a silent voice waiting to be heard.
“Susan envisioned a global community where innovative female leaders in fields like science, technology, and business, could come together and share their ideas, voices, and experiences with one another. She dreamed of a place where women and men could reach their highest potential and join their voices @the table.”
Then, one single thought rippled into another. Susan envisioned a global community where innovative female leaders in fields like science, technology, and business, could come together and share their ideas, voices, and experiences with one another. She dreamed of a place where women and men could reach their highest potential and join their voices @the table.
And what if those same leaders inspired, connected, and supported a new generation of women? Could girls and boys around the world become catalysts and change-agents for an equal voice? She realized together we could create a roar so powerful it would shake the world. At that moment, I watched as Susan picked up a pebble with trembling hands and toss it into the water. And that’s when Women@TheFrontier was born.
Fast forward to today. Sharing our first blog post is a little like our birth announcement to the world. We are proud parents! While I’m sure Susan will share with you the extraordinary details that move an idea from concept to startup, and into launch- I would like to share with you the results of our team’s labor.
Through Women@TheFrontier’s website and blog, you can connect with others across the globe, find out more about our Global Gatherings, get to know the women highlighted in our FGC Index, learn about innovative ideas being driven by women, and find inspiration through the eyes and heart of an entrepreneur.
We’ll also keep you updated on events we’re creating just for you. So, join us on our journey. Be brave. Be bold. Show up and share your knowledge with us. Together we can do the hard work. Together we can shake the world.
We would love to hear from you! What ripples are you making in your community? Share it with us through our comments section, Facebook, or Twitter
