Who is W@F?

Who is Women@TheFrontier?
It’s a question we get asked a lot! And while we are always growing and changing, there are a few things about us that remain static. W@F is a community of Innovators, Entrepreneurs, and Game-Changers whose ultimate goal is to solve global challenges together. But, we are unapologetic in our belief that men and women need equal voices at the table to accomplish this goal.
Today, women represent a small minority at the board, policy, and idea-making tables.
We are revolutionary, though. Women strive for education, ascend corporate ladders, support families, shatter glass ceilings—and let’s not forget we are workers! Sixty-seven percent of all working hours are done by women. So, why do we hold 1% of land, rule 23 of the 181 sovereign nations, and represent 9% of global CEO’s? How do we balance the ratio so that our sons and daughters sit side-by-side representing the human race? As Susan Fonseca so eloquently asks, “how do we give 1/2 the sky, 1/2 the voice?”
At W@F, we’ve developed our own approach to finding and celebrating women who are transforming the world. Through our Female Game-Changer Index (FGC Index), we identify the world’s leading female influencers and pioneers who innovate in science, technology, policy, and business. We tell the story of real role models making a difference through our cutting-edge media series and Global Gatherings. In 2014, we are creating “4×4 in 2014,” which will connect the world’s most brilliant thinkers and doers in four hubs across four continents. These thinkers and doers will tackle the region’s greatest challenges from different perspectives and backgrounds. What is W@F’s role in all of this? We are the bridge connecting these amazing trailblazers, pioneers, and Game-Changers. Together, we can help these women find, fuel, and fund disruptive ideas!
“And that’s what we do at Women@TheFrontier. Think differently. Connect authentically. Innovate the future.”
But to uncover and inspire innovation, we have to be open to different perspectives and build new talent. Research shows that girls and women thrive when they are introduced to female role models, understand the story of STEM, and get involved with a novel type of networking.
And that’s what we do at Women@TheFrontier. Think differently. Connect authentically. Innovate the future. Women@TheFrontier is more than talking about a solution. It’s about moving forward in “ecstatic motion.”
